Dec. 1, 1984: Georgia Tech snaps a six- game series losing steak, upsetting No. 18 Georgia 35-18 in Athens. Yellow Jackets score 21 points in the second quarter, as quarterback John Dewberry throws two touchdown passes, while tailback Robert Lavette adds 109 yards rushing. Lavette becomes the 20th rusher in NCAA history to break 4,000 yards.
