This Date in College Football History

December 19, 2001: With the biggest comeback in bowl history, Marshall outlasts East Carolina 64-61 at the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, Ala. Trailing ECU 38-8 in the first half, QB standout Byron Leftwich rallies the Herd to a 51-51 tie at the end of regulation. Leftwich secures the win with a touchdown pass in double overtime, highlighting the highest scoring game in bowl history.
