December 21, 1946: In the last game for famed coach and football innovator Amos Alonzo Stagg (1951 College Football Hall of Fame inductee), the University of the Pacific falls to North Texas at the first and only Optimist Bowl in Houston, Texas. The Eagles ruin Stagg's farewell, scoring with nine seconds left for the 14-13 win.
