Cal Poly WR RAMSES BARDEN (6060, 240) had another stellar performance. The senior closed his record-breaking career with six catches for 108 yards and two scores in the Mustangs’ 49-35 first round loss to Weber State.
Despite losing to Richmond, Eastern Kentucky SS BRANDON GATHOF (6012, 206) led the Colonels in tackles with nine in a very impressive game that saw him all over the field.
In the loss to North Alabama, Delta State OLB ANTHONY KING (6023, 215) finished with 10 tackles, one and a half for loss, one and a half sacks, and a forced fumble.
The playoffs always provide great first round games and James Madison QB RODNEY LANDERS (6’0”, 217) led the Dukes to an exciting 38-35 victory over Wofford. Landers had 166 yards rushing and one score on 24 attempts and completed 8 of his 15 passes for 126 yards and three more scores. He had just one interception and tallied 298 yards of total offense in the Dukes’ impressive first round performance.
In their 45-36 loss to Northwest Missouri State, Abilene Christian got another great performance from RB BERNARD SCOTT (5104, 197) who ran for 169 yards and two scores on 26 attempts to average 6.5 yards per carry. He also hauled in five passes for 76 yards.
Richmond DE LAWRENCE SIDBURY, JR. (6024, 265) finished with two stops, one and a half for loss, one sack, and three quarterback pressures in their dominating defensive performance against Eastern Kentucky.
It was another productive day for Richmond RB JOSH VAUGHAN (5115, 226) who had 23 carries for 90 yards and two scores in their first round victory over Eastern Kentucky.
