Auburn Looks To Secure Coaching Staff

Next Level Scouting, Inc. is reporting that there are at least preliminary talks behind the scenes at Auburn to discuss if they will retain current head coach Tommy Tuberville on the heels of fellow SEC head coach Phillip Fulmer resigning at season's end at Tennessee.

The primary thought process here is that there are some officials at Auburn that may not wish to give current Tigers' defensive coordinator Will Muschamp a window of opportunity to jump ship over to the "wish" list of the Tennessee Volunteers.

If a transition was made down the line later this season from Tuberville to Muschamp possibly even if he were just given the reigns to coach the team in a possible bowl game than it could lead to Auburn signing him to a long-term deal before someone like Tennessee or others could even receive the chance to interview him for their own vacancies at head coach.
