This Date in College Football History

Nov. 6, 1976: Breaking Texas' 42-game home- winning streak, Houston defensive tackle Wilson Whitley (future College Football Hall of Famer) dominates Texas' wishbone offense as the Cougars blank the Longhorns 30-0 to highlight their first season as a member of the Southwest Conference. UT is limited to eight first downs, as they suffer their worst conference loss under Coach Darrell Royal.
