Nov. 11, 1989: In Durham, No. 22 North Carolina State falls to Duke despite a record-breaking day for Wolfpack quarterback Shane Montgomery. Montgomery sets a then-NCAA record of 73 pass attempts, while also setting a single-game school passing record for 535 yards. Blue Devils' wide receiver Clarkston Hines sets an ACC record, catching his 35th career touchdown in Duke's 35-26 victory.
