Oct. 23, 1976: Pittsburgh tailback Tony Dorsett (1994 College Football Hall of Famer) breaks Archie Griffin's (1986 College Football Hall of Famer) NCAA record for career rushing with 5,206 yards while becoming the first player to rush for 1,000 yards four straight seasons, as the Panthers shutout Navy 45-0 in Annapolis
