This Date in College Football History


Oct. 13, 1984: Texas kicker Jeff Ward kicks a 32-yard field goal as time expires, as the top ranked Longhorns salvage a controversial 15-15 tie with No. 3 Oklahoma in Dallas. Sooner safety Keith Stanberry's apparent end zone interception of a Todd Dodge pass is ruled out of bounds. Texas falls to No. 3, while Oklahoma climbs to No. 2.
