This Date in College Football History


Oct. 21, 1989: In Knoxville, Alabama and Tennessee enter the game undefeated for the first time since 1973. Tide quarterback Gary Hollingsworth sets a school record for completions going 32-46 for 379 yards and three touchdowns, while tailback Siran Stacy adds four touchdowns in No. 10 Bama's triumph over the No. 6 Volunteers 47-30.
