Oct. 12, 1895: Princeton downs Lafayette 14- 0 in New Jersey as first-year Lafayette head coach Parke Davis also serves as umpire in the contest. A Princeton alumnus, Davis is highly respected by both teams and allowed to officiate. No controversial plays ensue, and there is no record of him entering Lafayette huddles to call plays while he officiates.
