CFI: THIS DATE IN HISTORY


Oct. 19, 1957: Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain takes in her first game of American football in person as Maryland upends North Carolina and former Terps’ head coach Jim Tatum in College Park. At game’s end, enthused Terps’ players carry head coach Tommy Mont to present him to Queen Elizabeth for congratulations.
