Nov. 21, 1925: Indiana and Purdue meet for the first time with the Old Oaken Bucket Trophy on the line. The 83-season tradition continues after the historic ’25 contest. The teams tie 0-0 in this contest and share the trophy six months each for the next year. It also marks the dedication of IU’s original Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.

Nov. 20, 1935: SMU edges College Football Hall of Famer Sam Baugh and TCU 20-14 in a battle Nos. 1 and 2 at Fort Worth, Texas. The Mustangs use a 45-yard pass from Bob Finley to All-SWC back Bobby Wilson for the deciding score to advance to the Rose Bowl to versus Stanford.

Sept. 21, 1997: Army defeats Duke for the first time since 1984 with a 35-17 triumph over the Blue Devils. It is also the Black Knights’ first victory over an ACC team since 1989. Army QB Ronnie McAda rushes for 88 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns while hitting 7-of-8 passes for 225 yards, 32.1 yards per completion, and a 80-yard TD strike to WR Ron Thomas.
