Joe McKnight returned to the practice field on Wednesday and particpated in 9-on-7 drills, All Access Football has learned.
The USC sophomore running back bulked up 20 pounds during the off-season in hopes of a breakout season but suffered a setback on Saturday when he hyperextended his right elbow. He endured contact and took hits during the drills.
The Trojans expect McKnight be ready for the August 30th season-opener at Virginia.
